Cramer Johann Baptist - 60 Selected Studies BK / CD
    Johann Baptist Cramer (Mainheim 24 February 1771 – London 16 April 1858)

English musician of German origin. Son of Wilhelm Cramer, who was a famous violinist and conductor in London.
Johann Baptist Cramer was born in Mainheim and came to London as a child. He spent most of his life and musical career in London.
From 1782 to 1784 he was a student of Muzio Clementi and soon became a professional pianist both in and out of London. He gained worldwide fame and even Beethoven himself admired him very much. Cramer was the publisher of the English edition of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto, and is considered to be the one who gave the title to the Concerto, "Emperor".
Johann Baptist Cramer was one of the most famous pianists of his time. He met Beethoven in Vienna, inaugurating a relationship of mutual respect.
After 1800, Cramer's career focused almost exclusively in England. Following the successful example of Clementi, Cramer also started publishing activities. The number of Cramer's compositions is only a part of his musical contribution. Beethoven considered Cramer as the best pianist of his time.
Apart from his pianistic art, Cramer is also a very important composer. He wrote a large number of Sonatas and other works for piano, but his Studies are the ones that keep his name alive as a composer. These Studies have been published many times and in various publishing houses and are an integral part of piano teaching.
He wrote 200 Sonatas for solo piano, 50 Sonatas for various instruments with piano accompaniment, 9 Concertos for piano and chamber music.
