Santour is a stringed percussion musical instrument. Its name comes from the Greek word "psaltirion" through the Persian word santour. It is an ancient musical instrument that was probably invented in Persia. It has a trapezoidal shape on which about 100-105 metal strings are placed horizontally and superposed, in three, four or five for each pitch, thus giving 41 notes. The strings of this instrument are tuned with special metal tuning keys that are usually put on the right side of the instrument. The strings are hit by small wooden sticks.
