"Concerto Madrigal" is a double concerto for two guitars and orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo. It was written in 1966.The work was entrusted to the composer by the guitarist couple, Alexandre Lagoya and Ida Presti. However, Presti passed away in 1967 before the premiere. They were replaced by Angel and Pepe Romero. The premiere was held at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The two guitarists were accompanied by the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos.
In Spain, the Concierto madrigal was first performed on 16 November 1972 at the Teatro Real in Madrid. The solo parts were again taken over by Angel and Pepe Romero. Moshe Atzmon conducted the National Orchestra of Spain.
